Here’s all the information you need to organize your stay in Belledonne for the Échappée Belle, an internationally renowned ultra-trail!

The Échappée Belle, a particularly technical ultra-trail crossing the Belledonne mountain range, will take place this year on August 23, 24 and 25. Created in 2013, this demanding race seduces runners with the unique splendor of its landscapes. Its reputation is also enhanced by the warm welcome and enthusiasm of the team of volunteers.They make a significant contribution to the impeccable organization of this event of international stature.

L’échappé Belle consists of several routes with different mileages and starting points. L’Echappée Belle intégrale: 152 km and 11,390 m D+, solo from Vizille to Aiguebelle La traversée nord: 92km and 6,740 m D+, solo from Fond-de-France to Aiguebelle Le parcours des Crêtes: 63km and 4,770 m D+, solo from Allevard to Aiguebelle La Skyrace: 21km and 2,000 m D+ solo from Fond de France And as a bonus this year: L’Échappée Étoilée: 2 untimed trails aimed at sporty participants, occasional and regular runners alike, for a first trail experience in the Belledonne massif.

Wonderful atmosphere during the event

Every year, the passage of the runners through the Grésivaudan region is the occasion for numerous events and festivities. Cheers, pride and applause mingle with laughter, music, initiations, workshops and various activities. The passage of trailers along the 152 km route attracts crowds of supporters. In addition, three other routes start in the Grésivaudan: the traversée nord from Fond de France (92 km), the parcours des Crêtes from Allevard-les-Bains (63 km) and the Skyrace, also starting from Fond de France (21 km).

The sites of the three starts, the refreshment points and the runners’ passages come to life. That’s why, once again this year, the Belledonne Chartreuse Tourist Office, the Département and the organizers are pulling out all the stops to make sure you get the most out of the event.

Free shuttles

A system of free shuttles lets you get around without worrying about road hazards, traffic jams or parking spots. From the bus stop “Le Collège” in Allevard-les-Bains, you can go to Pinsot, Fond de France and Le Pleynet on Friday August 23, and to Le Collet d’Allevard and Le Super Collet on Saturday August 24. A shuttle service will also be available from Pinsot to Le Gleyzin from Friday, August 23 at 2pm to Saturday, August 24 at 1pm (use of this shuttle is compulsory).
