Grésivaudan Valley

Between the Chartreuse and Belledonne massifs, the Grésivaudan valley is a blend of nature and historical remains. A former glacial valley, the Grésivaudan valley stretches for 45 km between Grenoble and Chambéry. Cradled by the bed of the Isère river, the valley’s bucolic landscapes and many treasures will enchant you.

Nicknamed “the most beautiful garden in France” by Louis II, the Grésivaudan valley is an exceptional area just outside Grenoble, between the Chartreuse and Belledonne mountains. With its rich historical, natural and cultural heritage, it’s an ideal destination for a holiday in the Pays d’Allevard or from the Collet ski resort.

  • The Touvet funicular, the oldest funicular in France with a 750-metre drop (currently closed due to landslides – please enquire before your visit)
