Theme trails

At an altitude of over 2,000 metres, Le Collet invites you to immerse yourself in the heart of the living mountain. The resort recently unveiled two new themed trails, signposted at the top of the resort, on the Plagnes ridge sector.

These educational trails offer much more than a simple stroll, with small ponds, alpine meadows and panoramic views: they are a real encounter with the mountain’s ecosystems and the memory of the place.

A mountain

to read, understand and preserve

Designed as awareness-raising tools, these trails tell the discreet but essential story of the Collet mountain: that of the ancient glaciers, the emblematic species (black grouse, chamois, raven, etc.), the rare plants and also the pastoralism that still shapes the high-altitude landscapes today.

Signs line the route, providing keys to understanding the natural habitats, the relationship between man and nature, and the ecological challenges facing these areas.

These trails are part of a wider scientific approach. The station has benefited from ecological inventory campaigns carried out by Grésivaudan and the MDP consultancy: more than 25 natural habitats have been inventoried and dozens of protected species observed, providing invaluable data to guide development choices and preserve sensitive areas.
