The Haut Breda Valley

A valley that has preserved its wild side

Well-known to hiking and nature lovers, the Haut-Bréda valley is an authentic and bucolic place. Located between Chambéry and Grenoble, it is often the starting point for many hikes in the Belledonne massif. Among its famous villages Fond de France is the starting point of the hike to the refuge des 7 Laux, but also Pinsot or la Ferrière.

Hiking paradise

Providing a bucolic setting with large pastures and numerous water points, the Haut Breda valley is very popular with hikers and trekking enthusiasts. The tour of the Allevard country or the tour of the lakes of the 7 Laux are part of the famous hikes. A hike that can last up to 7h30 for 21 km of walking in the sumptuous Belledonne massif. The Haut-Breda valley is also the starting point for an Allevard hike or an itinerary starting from La Ferrière.

Hiking in Allevard country which is located at the heart of the Haut-Breda valley will show the extent of this former glacial valley. If you are too tired from your hike in the Haut-Breda valley, a relaxing break at the thermal spa of Allevard will be welcome.

Sound trails

It is sometimes difficult to interest children in mountain hiking. Taking the sound trails of the Haut Breda Valley will revive their interest in walking. 2 circuits, of one and two hours, dotted with interactive terminals presenting the history of the valley and its residents.

The children will have much more fun walking by flashing codes on the terminals and discovering the various testimonies and other visuals. It will be an opportunity for all to discover the history of the valley marked by an economy based on the processing of iron and minerals.
